Why are these lessons so important?

Technology is already a huge part of our everyday lives and will continue to be in the future, so it’s important we are upskilling the younger generations and introducing them to relatable, positive and inspiring role models working in tech.

Getting children, especially girls, interested in tech careers at an early age could help to close the tech gender gap. Women make up only 16% of IT professionals, a trend that has remained the same for 10 years in a row, according to WISE.

Research shows that girls want careers that can make a difference and improve lives, and our lessons show how tech can have a positive impact on society and benefit others.

The lessons have already proved really popular with students – with over 4,200 views of the lessons and over 1,200 parents / carers and over 500 schools registering to use the resources in their classrooms and at home.
