Factory of the Future

Welcome to the Factory of the Future – a place where revolutionary technologies meet our adaptable and digitally minded engineering workforce to create incredible solutions to the problems of tomorrow.

Visit our Generation Tempest webpage. Voiced by members of our current apprentice population, these animations help bring to life what could be possible with a career in STEM, and help show that if you join a BAE Systems Early Careers scheme, you’ll not only be building your future, you’ll be building the future.

Academy for Skills and Knowledge

See inside one of our dedicated apprenticeship training facilities – the Academy for Skills & Knowledge (ASK). The ASK is a £15.6m investment to ensure our people have the skills ready to continue engineering and manufacturing the military aircraft of the future.

The Academy is equipped with the latest technology, which replicates the equipment used in our manufacturing facilities and engineering labs, where world-leading combat aircraft including Eurofighter Typhoon and the F-35 Lightning II are produced.

PHASA-35
Australia Trials

PHASA-35 is a solar-powered high altitude aircraft designed to fly in the stratosphere, above the weather and conventional air traffic. It’s an exciting programme that’s developed at a pace thanks to our collaboration with technology SME Prismatic Ltd and our colleagues across the globe who play a critical role in the flight trials programme.

Introduction to STEM

A team comprising an industrial placement student, apprentice and graduate from BAE Systems have developed a virtual workshop for high school students in collaboration with Air League Soaring to Success 2020. This includes insights into their education and career paths so far, a peek inside BAE Systems and three activities for you to try at home!
